The Zong Silhouette. No Water Required. The Steamroller 50mm Zong Z-Roller is ZongGlass’s take on one of the oldest pipe formats in the game — the steamroller — built with the same 50mm diameter tubing and 5mm wall thickness as the Fat Series bong range. It has the Z-kink geometry the brand is known for, the same colour and fuming options available across the ZongGlass lineup, and the same hand-blown-in-Phoenix construction. What it doesn’t have is a water chamber, a downstem, or a base. That’s the point. How a Steamroller Works A steamroller is a direct-draw dry pipe: a tube with a bowl on top and a carb hole at one end. Cover the carb with your palm as you light the bowl and draw — smoke fills the chamber. Release the carb to clear the tube in one hit. There is no water filtration, no diffusion, no cooling path beyond the length of the tube itself. The hit is immediate, full, and exactly as dense as the chamber you’ve filled. It’s a format that predates water pipes and remains the choice for users who want unfiltered directness over smoothness. The Z-kinks on the ZRoller extend the chamber length and give the piece its grip points — each bend is a natural place for your fingers to land — while keeping the overall footprint compact. Functionally, more kinks means more tube length and more smoke volume per draw. 50mm Fat Tube — The Bigger ZRoller ZongGlass makes the Z-Roller in three diameters: 38mm, 45mm, and 50mm. The 50mm is the widest, holds the most volume, and produces the densest, most substantial hit of the three. At 5mm wall thickness it is built to the same durability standard as the Fat Series bong range — the same glass, the same workshop, just a different form. Colour Fuming Options Eight colour options are available: Amber, Black, Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, and Clear. Colour is applied during the blowing process using American-made colour rods — it is in the glass, not on it. Silver (.999) and Gold (24ct) fuming are both available, adding the chameleon iridescence that develops and deepens the more the piece is used and heated. Where the ZRoller Fits Format Water Base Hit Style Zong Bong (Fat Series) Yes Yes Filtered, cooled Zubbler Yes No Semi-filtered Z-Roller Steamroller No No Direct, dry, full chamber The ZRoller is the most direct, most old-school piece in the ZongGlass range. For sessions where you want the Zong name and craftsmanship without a water pipe setup, this is the one. Made in Phoenix Since 1992. Every 50mm Z-Roller is built to order at the ZongGlass workshop in Phoenix, Arizona. Standard lead time is 2–3 weeks; up to 30 days during peak periods.
