SHIPPING, RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY
COMMUNICATION POLICY
springbean operates primarily via email for all order-related communication. Instructions, alterations, refund requests, complaints, delivery changes, and customisation requests must be confirmed via email. springbean cannot be held responsible for requests sent via social media, WhatsApp, SMS, telephone calls, or third parties that are not subsequently confirmed by email.
SHIPPING & PRODUCTION LEAD TIMES
All springbean garments are made in Cape Town, South Africa. We offer a standard shipping fee of R145 within South Africa. Our standard production lead time is approximately 8–10 working days from confirmation of payment. During peak periods, seasonal demand, public holidays, supplier delays, or periods of high order volume, production may require an additional 2–5 working days. Delivery times quoted are production estimates only and do not include courier transit times. If you require your garment by a specific date, please contact us so that we can check our schedule we are always willing to assist where possible. Customers are responsible for placing orders with sufficient time before weddings, holidays, events, photoshoots, or special occasions. Once a parcel has been collected and scanned by the courier, delivery falls under the courier’s control.
LOCAL PRODUCTION
Every springbean garment is individually manufactured upon receipt of an order using locally sourced fabrics and materials. Production schedules are dependent on local fabric suppliers, manufacturing capacity, public holidays, load shedding, and other factors affecting our supply chain.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVENT DATES
Customers are responsible for ensuring that sufficient time is allowed for production, delivery, and any alterations that may be required before a specific event date. Customers are encouraged to notify springbean of any event date before placing an order. Failure to disclose an event date at the time of ordering does not create any obligation on springbean to expedite production, courier delivery, alterations, remakes, or returns.
CUSTOM-MADE GARMENTS
All springbean garments are made specifically for each customer. Minor fit adjustments may occasionally be required and do not indicate that a garment is defective. springbean offers complimentary alterations on all custom-made garments where reasonably possible.
MEASUREMENTS & SIZING
Customers are responsible for ensuring custom measurements supplied are accurate. Incorrect measurements supplied by the customer do not constitute a manufacturing defect and do not qualify for a refund.
COLOUR ACCURACY & FABRIC SELECTION
Colours may vary slightly due to screen settings, photography, lighting conditions and fabric dye batches. Minor colour variations are not considered defects and do not qualify for refunds, exchanges, or remakes.
White & Light-Coloured Garments
Please note that white, off-white, ivory, cream and other very light-coloured garments may naturally appear more sheer or translucent than darker colours. This is a characteristic of many fabrics and is not considered a defect, fault, or quality issue. The level of opacity may vary depending on factors such as fabric composition, fabric weight, lighting conditions, undergarments worn, body shape, and the contrast between the garment and the wearer’s skin tone.
Product photographs are often taken under professional lighting conditions and may not accurately reflect the level of transparency visible in different environments. Customers ordering white or light-coloured garments acknowledge that some degree of sheerness may occur and accept this as an inherent characteristic of such colours and fabrics.
By placing an order for a white or light-coloured garment, the customer accepts the risk associated with the potential transparency of the fabric and understands that perceived sheerness, visibility of undergarments, or a preference for a more opaque appearance does not constitute a manufacturing defect, misrepresentation, or grounds for a refund, exchange, or return. Customers concerned about transparency are encouraged to consider appropriate nude undergarments, slips, lining options (where available), or alternative fabric and colour choices prior to ordering.
FABRIC BATCH VARIATIONS
Fabrics are sourced from third-party suppliers and may vary slightly between dye lots and production batches. Minor variations in shade, texture, weight, or finish between batches do not constitute manufacturing defects.
PRODUCT IMAGES & REPRESENTATION
Product photographs may be professionally styled and photographed. The appearance, drape, fit and movement of a garment may vary depending on fabric choice, body shape, height, proportions and styling.
BRIDESMAID, GROUP & REPEAT ORDERS
Customers ordering matching garments should place all orders together. springbean cannot guarantee exact colour matching between separate production runs.
ALTERATIONS POLICY
Customers are encouraged to inspect garments immediately upon receipt. Where a concern can reasonably be corrected through alteration, adjustment, repair, or remake, springbean reserves the right to offer such corrective measures before considering any refund request. Customers agree to provide springbean with a reasonable opportunity to assess and, where appropriate, alter, adjust, repair, or remake a garment before requesting alternative remedies.
RETURNS
All return requests must be communicated via email within 48 hours of delivery. Items must be unworn, unwashed, free from perfume, makeup, stains or damage and remain in original condition.
REFUND ELIGIBILITY
Refund requests will only be assessed after the garment has been inspected by springbean. Photographs alone may not provide sufficient information to assess workmanship, quality concerns, fit concerns, or alleged defects. Refunds are not available for sale items, personalised garments, incorrect measurements, colour variations, courier delays, late ordering, fit adjustments that can reasonably be altered, or change-of-mind purchases.
INSPECTION BEFORE DETERMINATION
No allegation of defect, workmanship issue, quality concern, or misrepresentation will be considered final until springbean has had a reasonable opportunity to physically inspect the garment.
ORDER CANCELLATIONS
Orders cancelled before fabric has been cut will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee. Once fabric has been cut or production has commenced, orders may no longer be cancelled.
REQUESTING A RETURN OR REFUND
All requests must be submitted via email and include the order number, explanation of the concern and photographs where applicable.
RETURNS & UNAUTHORISED DELIVERIES
All returns must be authorised in writing before being sent. Parcels returned without approval or without the correct return instructions will not be accepted or processed.
APPROVED REFUNDS
Where a refund is approved, the refund will be processed within 10–15 business days.
RIGHT TO REFUSE ORDERS
springbean reserves the right to refuse, limit, or cancel any order where pricing errors, stock shortages, supplier issues, suspected fraud, duplicate orders, or other exceptional circumstances arise.
FORCE MAJEURE
springbean shall not be liable for delays arising from load shedding, supplier shortages, internet outages, courier disruptions, industrial action, extreme weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.
LEGAL COMPLIANCE
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights afforded to consumers under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
